TopTipper was formed to solve the cashless-carry problem. Although no one carries cash anymore, workers still want to receive gratuities for their hard work.
TopTipper’s secure, cashless tipping management software helps businesses enhance employee productivity, morale, recruitment, and retention by boosting staff earnings without raising wages.
During Covid, we wanted to find a way to reward service workers who kept working despite the risk – mail, trash, UPS, Amazon, etc. We left notes for these workers asking for their Venmo or PayPal account so we could tip them. They all left their account details, and we sent them a tip. After experiencing this, we thought this was something that could be facilitated using technology, because most people run into these same types of workers often.
Our initial product was an app that offered one-to-one tipping between homeowners and service providers. We then expanded our system to become a web-based platform targeting vertical markets where cashless tipping had been the norm forever but has faltered due to less people carrying cash. This seemed like a much better mousetrap. Hence, TopTipper was born.
We strongly believe hard working service workers deserve tips, and we understand there is a limit to how much an employer can pay an employee without having to significantly raise customer prices, which no consumers want. While we agree with complaints that in some arenas tipping has gotten out of control, i.e. places where tipping was never the norm, the complaints have hurt tipping across the board even in areas where it should be happening. We want to help hard working service employees make more money while also providing businesses with the advantages of increased morale and productivity.
